The Book of Joel is one of a group of twelve prophetic books known as the Minor Prophets or as The Twelve The book contains a prophecy of a great catastrophe consisting of a terrible drought and a plague of locusts (1:1-2:11) The prophet Joel then calls for people to repent and to turn to the forgiveness of God (2:12-17) He foretells the restoration of the land (18-26) Future prophecy telling of gifts to all God’s people and their safety in the face of cosmic cataclysm. (2:28–32) The prophet foretells of judgments destined to fall on the enemies of God (3:1-21)
